A woman’s life has sadly been cut short in a tragic Texas automobile accident. The car crash occurred on a recent Saturday morning. Sometimes these types of car accidents happen due to a driver’s negligence, in which case the reportedly at-fault driver may be held financially responsible for any injuries or deaths resulting from the accident.
How the accident happened
The accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. According to authorities, an individual was driving an SUV along the Harris Branch Parkway in Austin. A 65-year-old woman was a passenger in the vehicle.
Police said the SUV left the road and struck a tree. The passenger was injured and transported to a medical center. However, she passed away at the hospital two days later. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Reportedly, it was the sixth fatal accident in Austin this year.
How an attorney can help
The surviving loved ones of the victim in this Texas accident may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained due to the collision. Liability must be established in civil court, based upon appropriate proof of negligence, before a judge will adjudicate any claims for monetary damages. A successful claim may result in a monetary judgment to cover hospital bills, burial expenses and other documented financial losses. No amount of money can undo what has already happened, but any damages awarded may help the victim’s family to move forward from such a tragic loss.
